F series LSD's are actually easy to get if you want to buy new. The Mk2 Supra boys in the US are a big fan of the TrueTrac, which is a Torsen type LSD designed for Hilux 4WD's. It's pretty much plug and play for any F series diff and by all accounts it's a good bit of gear. They go for around US$3-400 from what I've seen. You can also get clutch type LSD's, mini spools, full spools, air lockers, you name it!

Norbie - thanks for that info.
For all intensive purposes I am happy to go with the F series diff. Especially if I can find one with a disc rear as previously mentioned.
and Justcallmefrank - yes I was concerned (though not overly) about the weight difference having to go to a G series. Thanks for that also.
