If it's a fibreglass bonnet, an easy way to brace under is to buy some polyurethane (not polystyrene) foam and cutit into strips about 30mm X 40mm X the lengths you need. Then lay them on the underside in from the edges around the perimeter, then add some more for cross bracing. Butt them neatly where they join, then fibreglass over them onto the bonnet surface. If its a steel or ali surface use epoxy resin instead of polyester. You will need at least a couple of layers of glass.
