Im confused too - I thought the australian AE86 had the S series diff. - I know the local KE70 had BorgWarner diff and the imported KE70 panel van had the S series diff (I have physically seen them). - The AE71 sedan (local) I presume had the BorgWarner also, AE71 import (ie panel van) probably would have had a jap diff (S ot T I presume).
can anyone confirm what the AE86 had. Ive heard the AE86 had the S series in australian models and the T series in other overseas models ( as mentioned in the "F series with LSD" thread by hiaaa)
also what ae71 are you talking about as no local one ever came with rear discs.
