You have to make sure you get the analog type EFI components. I am not sure when it changed over but the 85-86 sound about right. The 22re come out with both. the later has the knock sensor. an easy way to check is to look at the Trottle Positioning Sensor (TPS). If it has 3 wires it is the old analog. that just measures idle, or open. If it has 4 wires it is the later. with 4 wires it measures with a potentometer across the whole range.
it might have a few more diffences that I am not aware of.
by the way the ECU should be in behind the glove box. attached to the underside of the dash.
