no, the doctors never tell you anything about the donor, they just say it's a good kidney, i got a 3 out of 6 (1/2) match which is considered prity good. you are allowed to write a letter to the donor family, but it goes through the hospital, so they don't know you and you dont know them. it is a shame for the loss of life, but it can be a god send to many people like me.
