 UFO 1.5 of 4 cyls firing

22R -> 22RE upgrade 
UNIDENTIFIED FU#$EN ORDEAL! 
Cylinder 1 fires (engine will idle with this one alone), cylinder 4 half firing (engine will eventually die with this one alone).
Occassional backfire type kick through intake system as if a cylinder firing while inlet valve open.
- No ECU error codes (tested with 2 computers).
- Timing set correctly, spark at all plugs, checked, rechecked (tested with 2 distributors, rotors, caps, leads. Ignitor seen running in donor vehicle before purchase. Still my original carby coil {same part# as EFI coil}. Plugs gapped & clean.
- Fuel pressure tested OK, injector plugs pulsing OK, #1 cyl (good) plug swapped onto others cyls, no difference. Removed injectors, tested cyl #2 injector in rail with 12V, full spray into air, confirming fuel pressure also. Will test rest tomorrow, also on lower voltage. If all same/OK, will replace & test engine again.
- Miscellaneous: new oxygen sensor, new fuel filter/pumps, new exhaust system (stock 4-2-1 manifold/headers, new 2.5" cat and muffler), AFM revs engine up like throttle when swinging screen open.
After replacing the injectors tomorrow morning, I'm out of logical ideas. Wondering if anyone has been in similar scenario.
