TA22's are as reliable as they come, although they are quite old now so you have to expect some issues. That's not such a big deal though because they're dead easy to work on.
The stock 2T is bulletproof but gutless. A 2T-G is a big improvement but still won't set the world on fire.
The main thing to look out for when buying a TA22 is RUST. Also be on the lookout for dodgy smash repairs. Unfortunately most TA22's have been afflicted with one or the other by now.
