Thanks guys but I re-used the stock lid gasket and it looks and works fine. I didn't glue it back under the lid, so I put the air cleaner back together upside down to hold it all in place. Its all sweet again and the chrome job looks sweet and well worth the $70. I have finally found a good chrome shop in the south Sydney area so it looks like I'm back in business again.
Stuart,
I wouldn't say my Celica is concouse yet back you have certainly hit the nail on head with my taste in general. I'm a total perfectionist and I spend hours looking for the right part like a lot of other car nuts. I don't use my Celica so its sort of like full scale model for the time being. I'm hoping to find some other fully restored TA22 Celica's in Brisbane next year so we can hang out together and admire our paint jobs together. You probably missed my link I made for the Toymods boys and girls, so go have a look at my little beast and tell me what you think? I'd hate to say whats already been spent but when you look at other cars that are built to the standard/build quality I want, I say another $15K should finish it off. This will probably take me another 6 years or maybe longer, which really sux! I have have plans for different engine and the guys around here have certainly given me some good advise and tips. For the time being I need to get the car ready for the Sydney-Brisbane trip at the end of the year so thats why I fixed the air cleaner.
