The diff's still in the car, right? If so, think yourself lucky, as I needed to put new oil in mine before putting it back in my car, and do you think I could get the bloody bolt to budge? I'm thinking "Shit I'm going to have to pay someone to do this" I tried hitting it with a hammer, hammering a 1mm smaller socket onto it (with limited success); pretty much everything I could think of....Then (in frustration) I whacked it with the flat back of a hatchet I have lying around then had another heave on the socket. Lo and behold, it worked!
I guess the moral is:
The next try may be the one that works.
If not, quick weld, attach socket, attach breaker bar to socket and PULL!!!!
