Yeah they are a real pain in the arse to get out.. I gave up on the one in the sprinter as it was just starting to round the head.
Ended up taking it to a mechanic (one of the few times i've ever taken a car to one), and got them to undo it. Think they welded something to it.
In the Celica I was having similar problems, ended up pulling the pan rod off to give me some more room to move put a small length of exhaust pipe over a big ratchet and it finally came undone.
Not much help.. Just wanted to share my hate of diff bolts.
