Use the temp guage from your 5ME in your Ford V8. It is likely that you will need an adapter. The thermostat opens at 82 degrees for a 5ME so I suppose the operating temp is around that (a bit more - 85 to 90 I suppose). I have absolutely no idea what the operating temp of your Ford V8 is, but by using the 5M temp sensor, you can be sure it remains calibrated to the dash guage. You can then rest assured that the guage is accurate. However, the normal temp for your V8 may not necessarily line up with a normal temp for the 5ME. 1JZGTE and 2JZGE open at 82.
