of course you can supercharge carburetted engines...

the only problem is a intercoolering is an impossibility, i.e trying to cool the A/F mixure without condensing it, water/methanol injection works just as well as an intercooler, but is a prick to fit unless you've got a kit designed especialy to fit your car

that being said, you wouldnt want to run big psi...

there are lots of better points of going EFI, but the amount spent on dyno tuning and such just wouldnt be worth it IMO
