Yeh, morg I totally agree with Henn, buy a car here. Import is a lot of hassle and only worth it if you want to import something newish, and around $20,000. With the new laws, in place you will have to pay more. And a rule that has just come in is the fact that it costs regtered importers $20,000 per model of car that they import. 180/silvias have lost their popularity, so not many places would have these. Plus it takes over three months sometimes just to get the car on the road. You also cannot see the car or drive it before you get it. And you would be lucky to find a car that is around 15 years old in Japan, because rego goes through the roof after 6 years (cars are bought with 3 years rego when new). Jap govt. encourage people to sell their cars to keep the ecomomy booming so keeping a probably thrashed 15 year old car is just false economy, as it is for you. look local mate... hope i was of some help
