The problem ended up being that where the cable from the external condensor connected to the outside of the distributor was loose and grotty making a poor contact. I tightened it up and jumping tacho was a thing of the past :0) Points are burnt after only 1000km, so getting replacement condensor tonight. Thanks ppls [Report message to a moderator]
