Well, with blown fuses basically theres no connection between the alt and battery. Wouldnt that be the case? No electrical connection between the 2 would mean theres no charge.

I dunno if its different but I hooked up my car stereo and with a blown fuse, my amps dont work coz its dead where the fuse is.

Also u say it keeps blowing fuses, so if thats the case u got a short somewhere, so check for live electrical wires hanging on their own and exposed.
