Hey,
I used to hook around in an SV21 3SFE Auto Camry. All I can say is: it was a Tonka Truck. Survived manualizing the gearbox, holding it in gear til around 7500-8000rpm for nearly 200,000kays. Had 60,000kays when I got it, sold it for $5,500 at 250,000kays.
Look them over really carefully. With full servicing, they last forever. Wasn't too bad on fuel, could cart a decent amount of gear with it, although it didn't like towing things too much. Excellent car to pull things out of sticky situations - like an old XBGSV8 ute that had sank past its sills in the backyard. At standard height they will cope quite well with 4WD'ing exploits, although the front spoiler will hate you for it.
If I were to buy another new (post 1978) car, it'd be an SV21, no question. Just don't buy Super D*ck Protector - SDP760 - 'cause you can't get laid in a Camry.... It's had a very hard life.
L8a,
Prud
