well it's pretty hard t tell if it is white or grey or blue, there is really not that much difference, and different oil burns different colours anyway...
what about if you drive past someone when boosting, do they smell burnt oil or nothing? sometimes pedestrians can be useful (rather than just diving out of the way  )
where are you located? i have a gauge with both screw in and straight attachments that are about 6inches long.. is that enough? if you are in sydney, come to the dyno day or send me a PM, and we can do a test.
