I have an 84 supra with a Jap 6m in it about 8 months ago I noticed it smoking a little but didn't think much of it well it would use about one quart each oil change no big deal so I kept driving it. It didn't get any worse but I was racing around town and blew the head gasket so I pulled the head off it and saw my smoking problem. The number three piston had a chunk out of it from the valve recess to the cylinder big all the way down to the top ring. Didn't smoke much and it didn't hurt the cylinder wall.Gotta love big valves looks like it went out in one big piece. Man I love Toyota!!!!
