drifter4ag Occasional Poster Location: Auckland Registered: May 2002	Re: Which turbo for 4AGTE Wed, 25 June 2003 23:15 first one the 97kw ended up losting the t3/4 and trading to an RB20DET turbocharger .. and ran at around 10psi for 1.5years 2nd one had a few problems with fuel surge and sparking plug faliure so i went throught two motors with that setup. The most recent motor has been in the car 2months and has been to two drift days ..one competition and one practice day. And i dont see it expiring anytime soon .. most bluetops will last a very long time with turbo ..safely 7-8psi .. no trouble ever 4-5psi ..and shortened lifespan = 10-14 psi which is what im currently running .. it all comes down to spark and advance. And why bluetops ? .. compression isnt 2 low and isnt 2 high .. and they also cost about $60 from a wrecker ive done a turbo redtop but it was running 11:1 +8psi and that was when the spark plugs shat themselves resulting in a slight meltdown. But note .. Stock fuel system and ecu and injectors .. With a programmable ecu you can make them last plenty with good spark retard systems and stuff like that. [Report message to a moderator]
