You should have laughed in their face (and if you were talking to them over the phone, you should have deffinately laughed out loud!). These motors are almost 20 years old, them saying that tells me all I'd need to know about buying an engine from that place.
Keep ringing 'round, you'll find someone with another one. Probably at a better price, too. Try to get one with all the accessories, it will make things alot easier.
