Yes, unfortunately the jaycar equators are single point immobilisers. You can be VERY senaky with these, of course, but insurance companies tend to like more. The main problem I found with the jaycar alarm was the thin diametre of the wiring, it's pretty crappy. Too small to use reliably in red crimp connectors. I'm not sure what the wiring on other brands is like, maybee a lot of them are like this. But I you're installing an alarm, I recommend soldering everyhting anyway. Also, I find it annoying that you only have to hold the lock button down a fraction of a second too long to swap from silent to beeps, which is pretty annoying. Apart from that, it's fine.
Jaycar DO now sell a proper approved immobiliser with black wiring etc that you can get an alarm upgrade module for, looks good.
