Talk about dodgy ... I took even a shorter way by just buying a $2 spray can from Supercheap Auto and respraying both the grille & side mirrors on my AE86. Mine you, it was all in gloss black so it was more of a touch-up.
My only piece of advice is to hold the spray can further away (like the 30cm recommended distance). I sprayed a bit too close & the paints gone thick on one side of the grille where I've held it too close. Didn't realise it till later. Apply coats in moderation & build it up rather than all at one go.
The other problem is finding a way of holding up the mirrors so that the paint don't run when it's drying. Hence make sure it's a thin coat you apply each time.
Apart from that, all else looks fresh ... now the rest of the car looks like in dire need of a respray ... ho-hum ... my 2 cents worth for the day ...
