SecaSX Regular Location: Sydney Registered: April 2003	Exhaust Dump Pipes Tue, 08 July 2003 13:14 Hey Guys In regards to the dump pipes for exhausts is there a significant difference in sound with different sizes? I am thinking of getting a full exhaust system extractors, hi-flow cat, 2.25 inch system (redback muffler) but I can't decide on the dump pipe out the back. From the exhaust shop the guy said the 3 inch is the right size and the most popular size. After comparing the 3inch, 3.5inch and 4inch I am more swayed towards the 3.5 inch or 4 inch. I am swayed more to the bigger sizes due to the look factor I suppose. The exhaust shop are of the opinion that anything above the 3inch would make the exhaust sound "barky" when you back off the throttle and it might start sound a bit "tinny" up high in the rev range. I am looking for an exhaust will a deep growling sound rather than a high pitched "tinny" sound. Any suggestions/opinions/experiences would be appreciated. [Report message to a moderator]
