Had an auto electrician come around and he swapped plugs on the distributor cap around... He said they were in the wrong firing order and he doesn't understand how it was starting before!

Was it running fine b4 the auto elec screwed aroung with it ?
cause if the leads are in the wrong order it fire in the wrong order and it does that exact thing u said......make that popping noise
so chances are he got the firing order round the wrong way
