Thanks for the replies. As I said, it was just out of curiosity, I didn't actually intend using the other pin positions.
More Dumb question time:
1. Has anyone ever tried to fit dome top 5MGE pistons to a 7MGE (and yes, we realize they'd have to be severely fly-cut). The compression height is only .2mm different (if my poor maths is correct that's 8 thou). Yes, I also realize a 5M is a 2 valve. The bonus is they are the same bore, piston pin diameter, etc. Compression is our friend and I really don't care what kind of fuel I use (the more the better I say). Otherwise we'll go the Ed method.
2. There was a post here some time ago using Toyota Echo(?) buckets in 7M's, has anyone tried this yet? Am I correct in saying 4AGE shim/buckets are the same as 7M? Anyone know where to get shim under buckets for a "reasonable" price? I tried Oldmac Toyota (TRD dealer), $95ea for 4AGE ones (OK - my poor maths again but thats over 2 grand).
