ok... it only stays at 14v at the battery on idle. Once u start revving the voltage goes up. Well the alternator I got off a 3Y engine didn't have a internal regulator and I thought that was my problem. So instead I got my alternator reconditioned. Put it in and in the exact situation. It charges but it's not regulating. My van is made on the border line of when they changed over from external regulators to internal ones. I can see the voltage regulator box near the clutch pedal... is that the only voltage regulator in the system?? My importantly is that the one that regulates the battery voltage??
