Which bit of the cam is hollow?

M and JZ series cams have a hollow core for oil flow to the bearing journals. If it's the lobe, then it sounds like a flashy excuse for inbuilt obsolescence. Rolling Eyes

Would I core my otherwise solid cam? For the likely imperceivable performance gain balanced against the cost and likely weakening of the shaft, a big fat NO.
