No, the JZA80 came with 2JZ-G(T)E engines from 1993 onward. I know of a conversion where they put a 1JZ-GTE into a NA JZA80 because the 1JZ package was more affordable than a Supra TT front cut.
I think I saw it in a HPI magazine about a year or so ago.
