front track is just meassured from the centre of each tyre, just make sure your wheels are pointing straight.
thats all offset is, people can put as wide a wheels on there car as they want and the suspension geometry will still be ok providing the wheel track is the same as original ie, center tyre line to center tyre line, otherwise if you make your wheel track too wide you will fuck up your scrub radius and therefor make bad things happen, for example toe out under hard braking makeing the car fight and be unstable under hard braking,
and if you have a brake failer then when you hit the brakes and only one front brake works and you get toe out well good luck staying on the road.
