I know there's a difference in the actual T series axles, there was early and late. Later ones were upgraded by a millimetre or so from what i can see in the pictures.

But knowing toyota the T-18 one will have probably been carried over to the AE86, hence why it was uprated later in the model run. If you are getting the T-18 diff, grab the rear section of the tail shaft too, as the S-series diff has a shorter snout and the tailshaft is too long.
I've got another idea, apparently MA45 F-series disc brake rear end bolts into a AE86. But being rare in Australia why not convert a RA60 F-series live axle to disc. Since you are planing to adapt discs to a axle. Then the trutrac lsd goes in and you also get to select any one of the mental hilux ratios availble.
5.1:1 LSD with 7.5 inch ring gear.
But this is just an idea as i've never measured anything up myself. Anyone care to do the sums on this? It's rainy in melbourne at the moment and i don't feel like lying in puddles.
