Re: Car Alarm Help

A negative output normally means that when the alarm is activated or deactivated the connection shorts to earth. So you can link that connection to something such as a horn that requires an earth to activate. A positive output normally puts out 12 volts when the alarm is activated or deactivated. So you can send 12 volts to some other device such as central locking when the alarm is armed and/or disarmed. The domelight probably earths the domelight and/or one of the door switches to turn the interior light on (same as when you open the door, the light switch shorts to earth and turns on the interior light) when you deactivate the alarm. So you could walk up to your car, deactivate the alarm and have the doors unlock and the interior light come on. Hope this sort of makes sense and is od some help. Have you looked up the alarm on the internet to see if you can get some instructions ?
