I'm not going big here because my car is going to be a street car, but there are a few things that you can save on.

-Space saver wheel. This was a little lighter than even my Celica alloy. Bonus is it also fits flush with the boot floor.

-Seats. Comfy as they are, the Mk2 Supra seats weigh a tonne. They ain't obviously in the Mk3 category for weight, but compare them to normal Celica seats and they weigh heaps. I bought some OBX Carrera buckets that weigh less than the Celica ones.

-Engine. Engine choice would play a big part, the M's are rather heavy, the JZ's are a tad lighter, then you have the 1UZ or the 1G. I wanted a 1UZ initially, but the 1G made more sense financially.

-Transmission. As has been said, the manual ones weigh less.

-Air conditioning. If you don't need it, whack the manual stuff from a Celica in. I don't know if the non-climate control air-con from a Celica XX or Celica is any lighter, but mine is getting that (someone removed it originally).

-Stereo. Obviously a big stereo is going to cost weight. My stero is going to be simple. Just make sure you remove the factory gear you ain't using, like the tiny sub! Every bit counts.

-Wheels. The Mk2 Supra rims ain't exactly heavy, but you can save a few kg's per corner. My car came with some older Rays Engineering rims which are lighter than even my old Celica alloys even though they are 15"x6.5" as opposed to 14"x5.5".

From here things start getting expensive and too drastic. You can replace the bonnet for carbon fibre, you can remove all the sound deadening, you can rip out the back seat. These things just didn't make sense for me...
