Last night I was driving home from Melbourne along a stretch of hilly road called Highland Way. It was a little past midnight when the motor stopped, no splutters or anything like that it just simply stopped.
I rolled over to the side of the road and attempted one restart and I noticed that there was no LPG computer and no Engine manager computer.
I grabbed the torch I keep in the glove box and popped the bonnet and started doing a bit of a midnight roadside fault find.
As it turns out a button connector had come apart by about 2mm or less and it was just enough to expose the conductor which touched a small bolt that was near by and neatly blew the fuse that protects the circuit that powers the computers.
So to cut the story short I managed to find something to replace the fuse with and off I went again.
It sort of brings the importance of using fuses doesn't it, if there was no fuse (and I have seen people do it on headlights etc) there would have been a fire in that wire bundle.
Anyway this morning I replaced the fuse, fixed the connector and retidied the loom that was pulled apart.
And all is well again.
