The correct place to get your boost levels from is from the intake side anyway, every 1j I know of is set up that way.
it sounds like you have an EVC 3, the model before mine, but I may still be able to ge the books for it, gimme a couple of days.
most importantly check the duty cycle that your evc is set at, it should be set on 100.
i think in the menu screens it will be the first screeen after it displays the current boost level.
ie, 1 press of the menu button.
If i remember correctly this should be the duty cycle and needs to be set on 100 or maybe a couple higher if it is still spiking a lot.
