Your oil sits in the sump and only a little of it in the filter itself. You shouldn't lose too much oil when changing the filter, and the filter should be trapping all the crap in the oil(which there shouldn't be too much of in a properly done engine) And considering the amsoil is expensive as all phuck it works out about the same price as changing Mobil 1 every 5,000km. Which is what you should do with Mobil 1. But as i said, the guy i know sends his oil in for analysis after 20,000km and it's still good and clean, just due for a change for the hell of it. Amsoil actually recommend a change every 30,000km.
But yeah, if you wanna play it safe, do it every 5,000km. just use Mobil 1 then cause it works out about the same price and does the same job if changed more frequently.
