The petrol warning is an orange light above the handbrake indicator, and it lights up when the fixed arm is earthed. Not exactly sure of the purpose of this fixed arm exactly. It has a cone shaped object on the end with a wire heading into it.

The movable arm on the float still floats fine which I checked recently. Thought about putting something else on it just to make sure but that would quickly get dissolved / weakened by the petrol.
