I wrote a looooong reply to a similar question several moths ago which set out a lot of the differences. Easy to pick gen 3 from gen 2 is that the big plug for the computer has 26 pins against 24 for the gen 2 and the gen 3 does not have an injector balast resister. As this issue comes up all the time maybe if someone finds my response they might like to get it put up as a tech. article. Bit hard to tell, but the one in the photo looks like a gen 2 - the TPS for the gen 2 and gen 3 is different. Craig [Report message to a moderator]
