what brand DDR have you got apart from the generic stick? sounds like a memory problem/buffer problem (ie DVD not working at all (large buffer) and the cd-rw working until a point (when the memory is filled) are you running the ram in 'dual channel' mode? that will fuck up with 2 odd ram modules for sure. so turn dual channel DDR off that or your IDE controller on your mobo is screwed abit NF7-S nforce2....hasnt that got video onboard? and is it the "version 2.0" board? maybe its the irq settings for the onboard shit (disable all ALL onboard extras (ie network modem sound video whever) have you taken all devices from the board? run it on video (onboard) kb and mouse only? did that help? did you get the LATEST known good BIOS version from abit? try underclocking the cpu for heat purposes (long shot but may help) well by a method of deduction its not the> ram ide devices cpu install cd(s) because they all work in other boxes/configs... with a new mobo install, make sure there are no HARD jumpered pins for SATA or whatever, check EVERY pinout and its config apart from that, try http://forums.overclockers.com.au rego an account (free) go to the trouble shooting help forum in general forums they WILL be able to help you (major geeky goodness) hope that helps let us know how u fix it cheers garth [Updated on: Sun, 10 August 2003 15:34] [Report message to a moderator]
