1 check the fuses for you indicator circut, and the flasher can!
2 deffinatly sounds like you have oil pressure probs, my 2tgeu was doing the same thing, it was a problem of not getting enough oil up to the top of the head and it was not operating the chain tensioner properly so the chain had some play in it and was slapping all around inside the housing.
3 yeah, the 2t altinator will fit fine they are exactly the same. also any 3t altinator will fit
