Help With 18RG Mods??? Tue, 09 July 2002 13:19 Go to previous message
Ok, Atm my 18RG is dead stock standard, Simply running a 2" with extractors, And the stock twin Solex carbs.

I am looking into a port and polish job, And possibly some lumpier cams, I was quoted $850 for billets! but have found a place that do regrinds for about $100 each cam.....

I heard that there aint much point shaving the head at all to raise compression as the 18rg's have about 9.5:1 compression as it is.......But surely a mild shave wouldnt hurt....would it?

I am looking to run the thing on pump fuel, Atm i run half LRP and half Premium.... and hopefully can keep it that way.....

Yeah...any help would be cool, As i dont Really wanna rip the bottom end out for my eventual 60thou overbore etc. etc. Wink

CHeers anyhow
Ben

Does anyone have a rough idea how much a mild head job (no pun intednded) is worth? hmmmmm
