Ignition Dwell can have a HUGE impact on the Reviness of a 2TGEU. If you have the electronic Ignition what ignitor are you using ? Different Ignitors have different Dwell settings.

The Ignitor from a 22RE appears to run them quite well.

You should easily be able to rev it past 6000 rpm it is running correctly. !

If that checks out I would be having a good look at the advance on your Dizzy. check the vacuum advance is still working and if possible get the internal weights looked at the also make a HUGE difference.
