gold28 Forums Junkie Location: Madrid - Spain Registered: August 2002	Re: squeaky ma61 Sun, 17 August 2003 08:50 If ya really want to get all teckanogical about it, here is a procedure you can use a mechanics stethescope (or a big long screwdriver) to check for bearing noise. Disclaimer I don't advise this method and won't accept any responsibility for stuff ups causing bodily harm. But if you are the kind of risk taker that drives fast cars and lives life on the edge, you might want to give it a go. Put the tip of the stethescope (screwdriver) on the alternator, power steering pump, air-con compressor etc and place your ear on the ear piece (handle). All bearings will all have some noise, but if a bearing is crook, you will know it. CAUTION. I don't advise sticking your head in the fan belt or the screwdriver for that matter. Be very careful. It has taken me years of practice to master this technique. Kids.....don't try this at home..... Sorry if this doesn't make any sence, I currently have the flu and ame appropriatly doped up, so if it doesn't make much sence (oops I just said that twice....how do I tell them that due to the drugging process I have lost my inner monologue ) Well ask me next week.
