TurboRA28 Forums Junkie Location: Terrigal Registered: May 2002	Coilovers on RA2x Wed, 20 August 2003 07:09 Hi all, well i'm seriously considering changing the front shocks on the RA28 to coilovers. I know some of this has been covered before but just wanted to run it again so i'm confident on what i'm actually purchasing/doing. The plan is to use the original Corona XT130 struts(I put these struts in when changing to the 4 spot calipers, pug discs etc). I plan to cut off the original lower perch(I hope thats the right name for it.. Where the spring sits anyway), and then shorten the strut by 60mm or so. Reason for shortening is I wanted to run the AE92 corolla inserts, which have a shorter stroke which is achieved by a shorter body length and also stroke. My understanding is the body is 60mm shorter than original RA28 items. But I would confirm this before cutting! I am thinking Koni yellow AE92 inserts. Whiteline have a kit that comes with top cap, threaded sleeve, height adjust screw and locking screw. Weld the threaded sleeve onto the original shock. Put some springs on (anyone suggest what weights etc are good to go for?) and some adjustable strut tops for camber adjustment. What does everyone think? Also on a side note... I'd like to hear what suspension setups everyone else is running on their RAs.
