Neither. They are ultrasonic things (probably what you mean by microwave thing). The actual sensors are pretty usless as you need the alarm box thing to connect them up to and usualy the box matches the sensors and usualy when you buy an alarm with ultrasonic dector feature you get the dectors included. So the only good thing they are for is if burglars see them they might think twice before breaking in as they might think you have an alarm.
