Uhmmm maybe you should rethink this a bit..........how often do you think the thermo fan will switch on and when is it likely to do so?
I suggest that if youre cooling system is running properly then the only time you would need your thermo is when the car is standing still in traffic. And i dont think thats going to affect your performance too much seeing as you will be pretty close to travelling at 0kms . the only other time is if you were really giving the engine a long consistenet thrashing under extreme load, i.e at a track where it is likely you will be moving fast enough for the engine to cool with airflow anyway, I doubt you would be able to give it the same punnishment for long enough to switch the fan on while driving on public road, more likely is you give it some and come close to standstill and the fan will switch on then.
by using the thermo fan you reduce a large amount of uneccesary parasitic drag and can in fact get about 2-4Hp increases. the thermofan alos weighs less so you also reduce your overall weight. If youre that worried about power loss then just use the 100Kw alternator which is a bit stornger.
In my experience a thermo fan is the better option but each to thier own I guess
