Re: Electric Fan or Engine drive fan ??

There's only one choice - Electric fan. You can run an engine driven fan, but what you have to do is use a RWD water pump, as they have a longer shaft sticking out the front, and that locates in the back of the viscous fan hub. The FWD water pump doesn't have that, so at 5400rpm the fan assembly will develop really nasty harmonic imbalance that will literally rip the front of the water pump clean off. You'd also need a RWD offset pulley.
How do I know this? Because I have done it - twice! I thought I'd stuffed up fitting the fan the first time, so I did it very carefully the second time but at exactly the same rpm the whole fan and front half of the water pump broke right off. The radiator had a large gouge ripped in it, and the water pump backing plate thing was also broken in half.
So since you already have a FWD type water it's probably a better idea to get an electric fan anyway.
