Try using the search function; I'm pretty sure this has been convered in detail.
In summary, the TA22 Celica was replaced by the updated body shape in 1975. This was called the TA23, but it was soon replaced by the RA23 which is much the same but with the 2 litre engine. Both the TA22 and TA23 had a 1.6 litre engine.
The major differences between the TA22 and xA23, apart from the engine and drivetrain, are:
- completely different sheetmetal from the firewall forward
- lengthened wheelbase (approx 3" by my measurements)
- revised front suspension geometry, including wider track
- larger front brakes
- bigger wheels (13" -> 14")
- new interior, completely different dash
- safety improvements (eg side intrusion bars)
I think that covers the major stuff. Like I said, so a search and you'll find more information than you'll know what to do with.
