Re: Battery Question - Amperage

What you have to consider is cold cranking amps, how much it will push vs amp hrs, how long it will push for. Sealed batteries tend to have shorter amp hours but higher CCA. OK for start applications but long discharge like stereos not so good. You could try a batt to suit a BMW or Merc as they have a high CCA (550) and long amp hours, AND they are sealed caps AND vented as they are fitted inside cabins in these cars (in boot or under rear seats). Mine was approved w/out question by the RTA in boot and inside a std box with the vent tubes put through the floor. I think the century no is a DIN53 by memory.
This was information provided by local battery world. Also truck batteries apparently don't have a high amp hour rate as they azre usually used in 24v and with the pair of batteries is compensated for (again their info)
