Re: Police put brakes on drag racers...in Blacktown...

There will always be idiots who streetrace, we've all been guilty of it at some time, and extra facilities will not stop a small few from holding illegal racing on the street.
However; Legal, regular and accessible off street drag meetings would certianly attract large numbers and reduce the street racing by a significant amount.
Recent experiences of eastern creek off street drags confirm that it is not coping with demand atm. Far too many cars and too expensive makes everyone leave frustrated and looking for action, vowing never to waste that cash again.
I beleive there is sufficient demand for weekly off street drags in sydney, and even separate nights for imports or v8's.
Maybe even limmit off street drags to genuine street cars , not these barely registered parachute toting time wasters that take 2 minutes to do a 200m burnout and stage.
Hopefully the promoters fo the new drag complex can put together more efficient meetings more often. And remove the need to drag on the street.
Then the cops can do whatever they want, take all the fwitts cars that want to race on public roads, cos i wont be hanging out there anymore.
