My mechanic was good about my conversion. I only had to get the money to finish bits off as my car started as a totally undrivable thing. As in, bolts in suspension only half done up, tie rod end not connected, no tailshaft etc. My car was there for 3 months, but i was expecting that. Mainly waiting on water pump and bolts for suspension. All up cost me $3000 but that was for exhausts and intercooler fittings, tailshaft, wiring and other assorted crap.

For someone like me, I could not take on an engine conversion because i don't have the tools or the knowledge of doing a hard conversion. Wouldn't mind trying a relatively easy well documented one in the future though. Smile

So...if you are like me mechanically, then i would take it to a workshop that you know and trust and hopefully are friends with the mechanics. Remember it is not always the big fancy businesses that do good jobs, in fact sometimes it is quite the opposite.

Also, did you get the right sump configuration for your soarer? I think you would need the mid/rear sump from a jza70. My gz20 soarer needed one of them anyway.
